  • Organisers

  • Participants

  • Companies

  • Organisers could be local authorities, climate protection agencies, citizen cooperatives, community associations, public utility companies, regional energy suppliers or other local organisations. It is not possible to start an initiative as an Individual.

  • Registration as an organiser on our platform is free of charge. In the further process of an initiative, there are generally no costs for you. Only in case of a large-scale project, for which interested participants can be identified via our platform, you as an organiser may incur costs. However, the conditions depend on the specific project, which is why we determine these in a personal conversation with you. You can find our contact form here.

  • Our platform gives you the opportunity to digitally gather citizens for your initiative. Citizens can share the initiative with others and encourage neighbours and friends to participate too. These network effects increase your audience reach and the participation of citizens in your region. We also support you in addressing citizens by providing templates for workshops, social media, and newspaper articles.

  • Yes. Once you register as an organiser, your personal platform page and dashboard will be created for you. On your dashboard, you can create and manage multiple initiatives at the same time.

  • We have already negotiated specific conditions for initiatives of certain product categories with our partners. If you want to start an initiative with our professional services partners, you can do so within a few minutes using our templates. If you want to start an initiative for another product or project, please contact us and we will work out suitable initiatives together. You can access our contact form here.

  • The duration of an initiative, including the provision of services, depends heavily on the product or project in question. In general, however, you decide together with the partner company over which period the initiative is open for participation by citizens. Typically, initiatives should not be open for registration for more than 4-6 weeks to provide an additional incentive through the time limitation and to provide the partner company with pooled request. In the case of large-scale projects, the duration of an initiative can be much longer or permanent.

  • You can save initiatives on your dashboard and launch them several times in a row, but it is not recommended to launch identical initiatives at the same time. The conditions of a follow-up initiative must be reconfirmed by or renegotiated with the respective partner company. If you use our partner network, this process is shortened, due to predefined conditions.

  • Yes. You can either contact a partner company in your region on your own or make use of our partner network. If required, there is also the option of generating an inquiry on our platform, to which companies can respond in a similar way to an application for a job opening. In any case, we evaluate the partner companies of an initiative according to predefined quality criteria, such as user-centricity, experience, certifications, and reference projects. For reputational reasons, we reserve the right to veto the choice of partner company.

  • Currently, we at CoBenefit are focussing on the topics of mobility, energy and buildings. Nonetheless, if your intended initiative has a focus on sustainability, there is always the option of launching the initiative on our platform. However, this is to be clarified in individual cases through a personal conversation. You can access our contact form here.

  • If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can access our contact form here.

  • Our servers are hosted in Germany and your data is processed according to strict German data protection standards. The personal data collected from you as part of an initiative is only accessible to the institutions and companies involved in the initiative. The use of your data is limited to the initiative and your data will not be passed on to third parties. You can find more detailed information in our data protection policy.

  • No. By registering for an initiative, you merely express your interest. After registering, you will be contacted by the organiser or partner company of the initiative and advised if necessary. Subsequently, you will be given the opportunity to sign a purchase contract. If the order is placed via the online store of a partner company, you will usually receive a discount code that you can redeem when placing the order.

  • The organiser and the partner company of the initiative will be informed about your registration to the initiative by e-mail and via their access portal to our platform. From the point of your registration, you will receive information about the further process and will be notified about relevant updates from the organiser. Regarding your product (and its installation), the organiser or the relevant partner company will contact you in a short period of time. In some cases, however, contact will be made only after the registration period is over.

  • After the registration period has ended, it is no longer possible to sign up for an initiative and benefit from the offered group discount. If you have registered within the specified time frame, the organiser will continue to give you updates. You will also be contacted promptly by the organiser or partner company regarding your product.

  • If you have any questions about the organiser, the initiative itself or a large-scale project, you can of course contact the respective organiser. On an initiative page, click on the name of the organiser in the menu. On the following page you can access the phone number and email address of the organiser. If you have questions about specific products, on the other hand, you should contact the partner company of the initiative, as they are liable for the respective product and can provide you with expert information.

  • After you have registered for an initiative, you will be contacted by the organiser or the partner company of the initiative and advised if necessary. Only then do you agree on a purchase contract with the partner company, in which the terms of payment are set out. If the order is placed via the online store of a partner company, you will usually receive a discount code that you can redeem when placing the order. In this case, you can find the payment terms in the order process on the respective online store.

  • Yes. In all cases, you can decide not to accept the offer made by the partner company and thus not continue to participate. You can also unsubscribe at any time during an initiative. To do so, please send us an e-mail with the subject “Unsubscribe: Name of initiative (name of organiser)” and your name to hello@cobenefit.co.

  • Even if the goal of the initiative is not achieved, you will receive an individual offer by the partner company. It is up to you whether you accept this offer even there is no group discount.

  • Both the organiser and we are always available for further questions. You can find the organiser's contact information on the respective organiser page. If complications arise or you need help with arbitration, you can also contact us directly. You can access our contact form here.

  • You benefit from free marketing through our platform and our organisers, as well as long-term leads with consistent order volumes. In addition, you support reaching climate goals.

  • In general, our partner companies cannot set up initiatives. That said, there are two special cases in which private-sector companies can act as organisers. On the one hand, local organisations whose sincere interest in the well-being of the local community is apparent to us can act as organisers. On the other hand, there is the possibility of CoBenefit launching a nationwide initiative together with a partner company. In this case, CoBenefit itself would be the organiser. For both cases a personal conversation is necessary in advance. You can access our contact form here.

  • You can use either your own hardware or use our affordable hardware packages. If you use your own hardware, we will charge a commission for the referral of the customers. This commission is due upon confirmation of the order by the customer. In case of large-scale projects, the entire costs of using our platform are covered by the organiser. Accordingly, there are no usage costs for you in this case and you are required to use your own hardware. In any case, it is necessary for contractual and data protection reasons that you use our platform for the processing of customer data and the order management process.

  • The organiser is responsible for the creation of an initiative and the marketing. We provide the organiser with templates for initiatives and for addressing citizens. You support the organiser by providing the necessary information material. It is your task to contact the interested individuals, whose contact information you receive via our platform, to advise them if necessary and to make them an offer to purchase. In some initiatives, the organiser provides an energy consultant himself or calls in an external energy consultant. They then advise the citizens in advance. If the participants confirm the offer you have made, you are responsible for providing the service. We support you with our platform in handling customer data and the order process.

  • Since many of our organisers are at least partially supported by the public sector, there is no possibility for you to sign a direct contract with the organiser for stand-alone initiatives. However, as an IT service provider for organisers, we also refer partner companies for the implementation of the initiatives in addition to our platform. Therefore, you sign a cooperation agreement with us, in which the discount conditions of the group offer as well as the time frame of an initiative are defined. For large-scale projects, the organisers themselves conclude a cooperation agreement with you, which specifies the conditions and time frame of the partnership within the framework of the large-scale project. For both stand-alone initiatives and large-scale projects, you conclude individual sales contracts on your behalf with the participants of the initiative.

  • We are looking for long-term partnerships with companies that accompany more than a single initiative of our organisers. How often you can accompany initiatives depends both on your capacities and on the creation of local initiatives by organisers. As part of our partner program, we suggest you for multiple initiatives in your region, based on feedback from citizens and our organisers. This facilitates long-term sales opportunities for you.

  • Customer satisfaction is our top priority, both on the part of the organisers and on the part of the citizens. We want to ensure that the participants in our initiatives receive only high-quality and well-priced products. Therefore, we pay attention to high quality standards when selecting our partner companies. We evaluate all partner companies according to predefined quality criteria, such as user-centricity, experience, certifications, and reference projects. The exact criteria depend on the type of initiative and the products offered.

  • Yes. Although we try to broker long-term partnerships, you can also accompany individual initiatives. However, through a long-term partnership, you will benefit from joining our partner network and being involved in multiple initiatives.

  • No. When citizens decide to participate in an initiative, they initially only express their interest in the respective product or project. Only after the participants have received an individual offer from you and have agreed to it, a binding sales contract is signed. As a result of the organiser's prior briefing of the participants, however, our rate of completed sales is considerably higher than in the case of traditional lead brokering.
