What is a charging station?
A charging station is a charging facility for battery-powered electric cars (BEV) or plug-in hybrids (PHEV) that has been specially developed for private use. Due to their high efficiency, battery electric cars are considered a future-oriented technology for a sustainable transformation of the mobility infrastructure. Hydrogen and other artificial fuels, also called power fuels, can also power an electric car (FCEV) through a fuel cell, but are very inefficient due to the losses in the many conversions from electricity to fuel to reverse electricity to kinetic energy generation.
