What are we looking for?
Backend Developer (full-time, 3-4 months contract with possibility of extension)
We are looking for aspiring developers who want to participate in the development of novel, inspiring products and leave their fingerprints. Our new team member should enjoy the interface between UX/UI design and its implementation. Moreover, a strong hands-on mentality is required to actively contribute personal ideas.
We are a small team with a focus on individual responsibility and rapid development. If you are a self-motivated and skilled developer with an interest in the development of novel online platforms, we want to talk to you.
Scope of activities:
- Develop significant server-side software using Python and Flask, backed by Postgres and leverage AWS offerings as well as other open-source technologies
- Create software that is reliable, scalable, and maintainable
- Effectively communicate with team members during projects, code reviews, etc.
- Contribute ideas and innovations, wherever you see an opportunity for improvement
- Work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary teams
Skills & Requirements
Preferred qualifications:
- You have analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills that allow you to implement core technical and architectural principles throughout the software development
- You have at least 3 years in active backend software development
- You have several years of experience and very good knowledge of development with Python
- You have already successfully implemented REST API with python flask
- You have a solid understanding of database systems (SQL, ideally Postgres, others appreciated)
- Working knowledge of using ORMs
- Experienced in the area of hyperscaler platforms like AWS
- Experienced with software testing and practices like TDD, Unit-, End2End-testing and testing frameworks
- You are able to work in an agile environment and know how to use tools such as Git
- You have a strong interest in clean code and clean architecture to build a scalable and maintainable code base
- Very good English communication skills
