About OHKW Klimajobs

OHKW Klimajobs’ mission is to accelerate a just energy transition by increasing the number of skilled workers in the field of renewable energy. They achieve this by developing standardised training programmes for career changers and connecting them to future-proof jobs, with a commitment towards upskilling and career mobility. OHKW Klimajobs places a focus on career changers as a source of skilled labour for the installation of solar and heat pumps by establishing an industry standard for training with formal certification.

Objective

The project aimed to develop a central hub for career changers and trainers as well as for booking training courses and giving access to candidates for participating companies. Over six months, requirements were collaboratively defined with 20+ companies. The goal was to create an intuitive platform for efficient management of training courses, certificates, venues, providers, and candidate onboarding, reducing analogue coordination efforts. Dedicated features and logins for candidates, companies, and training providers, along with a Supra Admin login, were implemented. Nuxt.js powered the frontend, and Docker with AWS ECS ensured a scalable server architecture for stability during increased user activity.

UX/UI Design

In close collaboration with Creative Consultant Imad El Rayess, we developed a modern and functional design that mirrors OHKW Klimajob’s brand identity. We meticulously mapped and tested complex user flows through feedback sessions with partner companies, refined processes and adapted the UI design accordingly.

Technical Realisation

We built the platform from the ground up, providing a seamless experience with an intuitive search, easy course and venue management, and a personalised booking system. Candidate onboarding involves collecting qualifications for individual profiles, connecting candidates with training courses, and potential employers. Candidates can conveniently explore branches of participating companies in their area and mark their desired employers. Dedicated logins and tailored features for all user groups ensure user-friendly navigation. After successfully developing the system, we oversaw the creation of initial courses and the registration of participating companies.
